Changes COVID-19 brought to students, teachers

Throughout the Coronavirus pandemic, lots of things have changed for many people. Sometimes it's good, other times it's bad. In March of 2020, students left school for a 2 week break, just expecting to be gone for 2 weeks. It has been almost a year since most students have even stepped foot in the school building. During the first few months of early quarantine students seemed to have mixed feelings about it, some students liked online classes while others, not so much. It was a big change for a lot of students as well as teachers. Learning to adjust classes online was pretty hard to do.

For teachers, they had to change some of the plans for the year, at least the assignments that were only able to be done in person. They also had to get used to online classes, setting them up at least. It was also a lot harder to communicate with students if they needed any help. There are some good things about the change though, for instance, it's a lot harder for students to lose their work because it's all online. Another good thing is that since most students are at home they get to relax most of the day. If people have pets they get to spend time with them as well!

For students, when they are late for one class they don't have to miss the rest of the classes since it's online. In my opinion overall online classes are more fun than in person school, mainly because we get to relax in a comfy spot and just chill with doing school work. Again, for the teachers they also get to relax at home. They can just sit on the couch and grade students' papers. Teachers can also set up class activities and projects easier since it's online. Online school has its ups and downs but I am, and I’m sure a couple others are glad the school took this route for our classes.

In conclusion, this was a great decision for the school system. Being safe during the pandemic is very important for everyone. I still do miss in person school but online classes are the best for our and others safety. Students, teachers, and staff’s lives have changed a lot during this time, some for the good others for the bad. Overall now that we are doing online classes we are a lot safer which is great. Once the coronavirus has calmed down and the vaccines have been distributed we might return to school and when that happens our teachers and staff can't wait to see you again! Stay safe!
