The first act was “Anything You Can Do I Can Do Better” from the show Annie Get Your Gun and was performed by Jenny Gamero Gomez & Abigail Hoellrich, both 7th grade students. “It was fun coming here to singing and I was nervous but turned out to be great,” Jenny said.

The sixth act was a skit written by seventh-grade student Helena Schenck and performed by both Helena and another seventh grader, Kevin Munoz-Mondragon.
After the sixth act, there was a brief intermission with a performance by sixth-grade Xavier Tickle called “Ghosts ‘n’ Stuff” which featured Xavier riding his hoverboard around the auditorium to music.
The seventh act was a performance that featured a theatrical skit acted by Helena Schenck, Jenny Gamero Gomez, and seventh-grade student Crystal Romero-Mayan. Eighth-grade student Cat Harper and seventh-grade student Lani Ashton sang “Prom Queen” by Beach Bunny as a musical backdrop for the act. “It was really fun even though there were a couple mistakes,” said Crystal about the act.

The ninth act was a singing trio performance of “Sisters” from White Christmas performed by real life sisters, Abigail Englis (eighth grade), Violet Englis (sixth grade), and Grace Englis (sixth grade).
The tenth act was a performance by the singing quartet featuring Colgan Groller (seventh grade), Myles Lanier (eighth grade), Jonathan Lopez-Bernal (eighth grade), and Lukas Vargas (eighth grade). The students performed the song “The Longest Time” by Billy Joel.

The fourteenth and final act was performed by all of the One Act performers and they all sang the song “Finale” from the show Rent together to finish out the show. Helena Schenck had this to say about being part of One Act: “It was a really amazing experience, I really don't know the people here but it was really fun getting to meet new people.”
The show was a hit with the audience as well. Seventh and eighth grade Language Arts teacher, Ms. Harris said she “thought it was very well done and creative. I liked that each performance was different. I really liked in the finale that everyone was together.” Seventh-grade student Nanci Calderon also added, “I think it was really good and I like how everyone came together.”
The second season of One Act is coming soon, so if you are interested in joining and being part of the show, be sure to listen to announcements about auditions for the next season.
