Class Notes: Must-Read Book Recommendations

Most people don’t read often; some not at all. Reading can bring you lots of benefits. For instance, it’s much easier on your eyes compared to electronics, no screen glaring in your eyes. No WiFi required! If you're bored and can’t go out, you can travel around the world through a book. You can zoom along with the characters and feel like you're actually there. Reading also makes you more creative; you can remix a book you read or make your own story! Although not all books are engaging and entertaining, most are once you know what genres and authors you like best!  Here are some of my favorite must-reads:

I Funny Series by James Patterson

This series is about a boy named Jamie who is in middle school and he is handicapped in a wheelchair. His dream is to be a “standup” comedian. He says so himself that he doesn’t really qualify as he can’t actually stand up. He got in a car crash that killed his mom, dad, and sister. He now lives with his aunt and uncle, along with their kids. The school bully actually lives with him because he’s Jamie’s cousin. Things get really interesting! This is highly recommended if you want a light funny illustrated chapter book.

The Thing About Jellyfish by Ali Benjamin

A book made out of a failure,  Susane's friend passed away on vacation by drowning(or so they say.), Suzy thinks the cause of it was a rare jellyfish sting. “Things don’t just happen.” Suzy decides to retreat into silence and refuse to speak. She then plans to fly to Australia to see a jellyfish expert by herself. But it doesn’t go as planned… Find out what happens!  It’s a bit lengthy but you won’t notice the difference, you’ll be flying through the pages like nothing!
