With the Honor Roll ceremony just around the corner on February 20th, the staff felt it was important to highlight some of those students that will be recognized. The Cougar Express interviewed four students in 6th, 7th, and 8th grade about some of their experiences in school and their lives on being on honor roll. Those students are: Mercedes Rivas (8th Grade), Glyssa Cargo (8th Grade), Daniela Santiago (7th Grade), Anthony Chaves(6th Grade), and here are their responses below.

Daniela Santiago: “Grades aren't what makes you smart or not and getting honor roll isn't a smart person thing it could be something for anyone. Do as long as you know you are doing your best then that can be your own honor roll and you shouldn’t stress out yourself so much. Just take it easy and try the best you can.”
Mercedes Rivas: “Try to get all your work done one time.”
Glyssa Cargo: “Do your work”
Anthony Chaves: “Work productively during class time and if there is extra credit, take it.”
What motivates you to get good grades?
Daniela Santiago: “Main thing is my family especially because they didn’t get any education like me.”
Mercedes Rivas: “My Mother.”
Glyssa Cargo: “I don't want to get grounded just because I got a C”
Anthony Chaves: “All there is, is just getting into college. If you get good grades, you can get into college.”
