Opinions of Hybrid Learning From Hybrid Students

We were curious about how students that chose the hybrid option for learning were feeling about the hybrid learning schedule and experience. We spoke with two 7th grade students, Giselle Hill and Grace Englis, about their opinions on the hybrid learning experience.

Giselle Hill, 7th Grade

“Well, the schedule changes at first made me a bit upset. I did not like the fact that we had A days and B days every day now. It adds stress because instead of having to worry about four classes a day now we have to worry about seven! It took a while to get used to but it eventually worked for me. Another thing was I had to go from waking up at eight to seven. I am a person that likes to sleep but waking up at seven was the hardest thing. After a few months to adjust, I finally liked our schedule. Then after the third quarter hybrid began. Hybrid made me nervous at first. I was scared to see everyone I lost touch with. Turns out I got to see an old friend again and gain a new one. Hybrid is also helping me keep focused on my school work. I am actually turning my work in on time. I am so glad I had the chance to go back. Even though we have to wear masks it does not stop the fun. I am just hoping next year we all go back. Even though wearing the masks can get tedious, having a fun teacher makes you forget about it. I am enjoying hybrid and I am so glad I am back and things are getting back to normal!”

Grace Englis, 7th Grade

"I think that the schedule changes were necessary, but they should have made 5 minute transitions and 30 minute lunch, like before COVID. Adjusting to the new schedule wasn't hard."
