Ms. Hannah Bush is a P.E. teacher for Manassas Park Middle School, as well as the boys' basketball coach. We interviewed her to find out what she thinks we should do at home to stay healthy.

She thinks exercise is very important especially for kids. Bush said, “We should get at least 10,000 steps a day!” That may sounds like a lot but that is actually a normal number. Between your classes, you should get up and stretch. Go outside and take a breath of fresh air!

She also wants us to keep a good diet. It might be hard to think about what not to eat especially when it is locked down but remember that staying healthy is important. Something else that she wanted to remind us of is to stay hydrated. No not with Gatorade or soda, drink water! Without it, nothing would be able to exist so at least drink it to make your body feel great.

You should try to work out every day. Bush said, "To make sure you push yourself". The first time, do one workout and once you have mastered that one, either add new things to it or do a harder one.

Being healthy is not the easiest thing but Ms. Bush believes all of us can do it if we are motivated. Even if you don’t have a treadmill or weights, use nature's workout room and go outside. You could go on a run, or you could go play outside with friends. If you can’t do that and you have a device, go on YouTube and look up a workout. There are many ways we can stay healthy. Just remember to stay motivated!
